ESU is a California corporation founded by John DeFazio in 1976.
The company is a manufacturers’ representative firm, specializing in construction,
industrial, and energy management products for the electrical industry. Since its inception,
the company has strived to exceed the demands and expectations of both its principals and
customers, and surpass commonly accepted standards of performance. With these values and
goals serving as the foundation of the organization, the company has since grown to become
one of the largest, most effective representative firms in the electrical industry.
ESU’s corporate headquarters in Santa Fe Springs, California, boasts more than 200,000 square
feet of office and distribution space. ESU maintains resident sales representatives in all markets
served, with both mobile and home offices.
ESU is committed to your success
The ESU staff of fifty (50) dedicated professionals includes seventeen (17) management
and sales representatives, twenty-three (23) customer service and operations associates,
nine (9) service center associates and one (1) IT Manager.
ESU continues to reinvest capital in state-of-the-art sales force automation, communication and
information technology in an effort to remain at the forefront of the electrical industry.
ESU proudly boasts the largest staff of cross-trained customer service associates in the marketplace.
ESU’s entire staff of CSRs is trained on all product lines and fully capable of servicing quotations,
purchase orders, expediting, and providing technical assistance. With extended customer service hours
of 6:00am to 6:00pm every business day, ESU provides its customers and end-users with a superior level
of service and sales support.
Although all CSRs are cross-trained on all product lines, each manufacturer is assigned an inside
sales coordinator. The designated sales coordinator serves as the primary contact for the principals’
administrative personnel and is responsible for the daily administration of the product line. This
includes managing all quotations, maintaining and distributing sales literature, and updating the sales
staff with changes to policies, procedures and market conditions.
In an effort to maximize end-user demand and specification for our products, ESU maintains a
specification marketing program focused on consulting engineering firms, architects, original equipment
manufacturers (OEM) and maintenance, repair and operation (MRO) personnel. An overview of specification
activities includes the following:
- Maintain specifications with consulting engineering firms, with management involvement at key/major firms
- Construction project targeting and tracking
- New business opportunities for OEM and MRO accounts through database marketing and a on staff
- Energy management specifications for energy-service companies (ESCO) and lighting maintenance contractors (LMC)
- Contractor specifications and maintenance of relationships with major contractors
